Rx servers with Serial Attached Scsi (SAS disks)

Most of the new Rx have SaS controllers. and The SO mirror can be done using the hardware raid controller, and forget about software lvm mirroring with MirrorDisk/UX. I am used to breaking the SO mirror when patching, with this servers, I'm using another disk and making a drd pre-patch clone.

I just got a server with sas a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still getting the feel of it.

From the server you have the sasmgr tool with lots of options, for example the status of the disks in the raid 1 mirror:

rx01@root:/opt/sas/bin/>./sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd0 -q raid
